CRMA (40 Hour Course)

This 40-hour course follows the Certified Residential Medication Assistant (CRMA) standard designed and provided by the State of Maine, Division of Licensing and Regulatory Services, Community Service Program. The curriculum includes classroom time as well as a clinical component under the supervision of an R.N. The course covers State of Maine regulations, standard residential facility policies, basic anatomy and physiology, common medication in the majority of drug classes, and the practice of safe medication administration procedures. Upon successful completion of this course, students will obtain a State of Maine certificate and be certified to provide medication administration in the residential setting. Re-certification is required every 2 years. Once enrolled, students must complete all classroom and clinical components. Preregistration is required and class is limited to 12 students.

CRMA (8 Hour Recertification)

This 8-hour course is to recertify your State of Maine certificate to provide medical administration in the residential setting. Students coming into this class should already possess the knowledge base in order to successfully pass the competency based test. However, a study guide is available online at http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/dlrs/Licensing/crma/. A copy of your valid CRMA certificate must be provided at registration and a photo ID is required on the day of exam. The class is limited to 12 students.
